Presidential vacancy discussion with Regents and Chair for TMCC-NFA members

TMCC-NFA members are invited to an open meeting hosted by Interim NSHE Chancellor Patty Charlton, Board of Regents Chair Amy Carvalho, and Vice Chair Jeff Downs to discuss preferences for filling the upcoming presidential vacancy at TMCC.

The Board of Regents handbook lists three options for filling the vacancy: 1) Appoint an acting president and subsequently conduct a national search to fill the position, 2) Appoint an interim president who subsequently may be named to the permanent position without a search, or 3) Conduct a national search in time to find a replacement before President Hilgersom's contract expires on June 30, 2025.

Although the NSHE leaders will conduct multiple stakeholder meetings, this may be the only one open to a broad portion of the faculty. It is imperative that we share our preferences as part of our obligations in a shared governance environment. Please plan to attend.
